DESIGN _ textile is the chair designed by the Spanish designer Ana Llobet (1987) for the Milan Design Week 2013.

She was selected for the Young Talents program organized by Gandia Blasco to promote new faces in the design field.

This project, inspired by fashion, has allowed me to apply techniques used with textiles to the world of furniture design. The joints of the chair are “sewn” together, to mimic clothing seams, while providing the chair a very ergonomic and unique design. The collection has an element of flexibility and will offer everyone “the perfect fit”.

What can you say about your last proyect textile?

Textile is the first of my proyects that is actually being produced and sold to the public. Gandia Blasco is a firm that I always  admired and seeing my collection in their catalogue satifies me greatly,it was a big opportunity.

Did you have any references to develop the proyect?

The idea was to apply the fact that clothing adapts perfectly to the different body types to furniture.
The proyect was born from this concept and it naturally grew and took shape.

Could you tell us about your first time during iSaloni in Milan?

I had visited the Milan Design Week before, but this was my first time presenting a proyect I had designed. It was an amazing experience, as I was able to talk about my products with the public and receive feedback.

Are you working in any proyect for the future?

Currently my target is to expand the textile collection and in the future I look forward to further develop my career as a furniture designer.
