Mike & Maaike is an industrial design studio led by Mike Simonian and Maaike Evers. Formed as a design laboratory, the San Francisco studio works both independently and with clients to create new opportunities through products, technology, furniture, environments, packaging and transportation.

Recent collaborations include: Google, Belkin, Haworth, Xbox, Incase, Blankblank, Council, Coalesse, Incase, Dupont, Steelcase, Fritz Hansen, Ironkey, and the City of San Francisco.

Mike and Maaike with Belkin designed soft laptop accessories for the home but also for for the business traveler. The design studio focused instead on the challenges of using a laptop in the home, including use in a variety of locations and postures, protection, transport, comfort and color.

The product line includes the following:

The PocketTop- a home base for your laptop, both a protective case and a workstation. Its soft form includes a generous storage space for mouse, power supply, pens, notes, etc. The open hatch provides easy access to the storage space and doubles as a handle. Lift pads raise laptop for increased airflow.

The CushTop- a wedge-shaped cushion that provides increased padded comfort, protecting the user from heat and improving the typing and viewing angle. the hollow side pockets keep your power adapter and mouse tucked away and act as handles for carrying the cushtop with your laptop.

The SleeveTop- a second skin for laptops that allows for comfortable use on the couch, bed, table, etc. Simple handles allow for easy transportation from room to room and the laptop can be used without removing it from the case. Lift pads raise laptop for increased airflow.
