WantedDesign is an experiential exposition showcasing innovative design offerings in furnishings and products. This year’s programs will feature insider conversations, hands-on workshops, presentations addressing education, environmental and social issues, creativity and new technologies, and key personalities from the international design community. All programs take place during the three days from May 18th to May 20th at the Terminal Stores - The Tunnel, 269 11th Avenue, between 27th and 28th streets, in New York City.

WantedDesign was founded in 2011 by Odile Hainaut and Claire Pijoulat and has already established a successful reputation as a popular and inspiring meeting point for designers, manufacturers, artisans, students, design institutions, the media, and design lovers from around the world. This year, in addition to a strong presence of U.S. manufacturers, designers and design institutions, WantedDesign welcomes participants from countries such as France, Sweden, Canada,Turkey, Italy, Austria, El Salvador, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Guatemala, Argentina, Australia, Quebec and New Zealand.

WantedDesign began as a design forum, reinforcing a creative community that would help establish New York as a desirable design destination. The goals are to foster conversations and discovery, establish relationships and new collaborations, and inspire visitors.

The Conversation Series, a three-day platform and dialogue sponsored by Ligne Roset, will be at the Conversation Lounge at Grimshaw, in a warm brick-wall room furnished entirely by Ligne Roset, which is celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Togo Collection.

The special programme includes a presentation by Patrizia MOROSO and long-time collaborator, Giulio Ridolfo entitled “The Fundamentals of Furniture and Fabric”. As Creative Director of her family-owned company of the same name, Patrizia Moroso's most valued creative partner, Giulio Ridolfo creates textile collections for the brand’s furniture collections. To completely realize a designer's ideas, Ridolfo chooses textures, patterns and colorways that best express the designer's intent. This conversation will reveal how the design and the ideal textiles come together.

Another special event on Sunday 19th May is the special breakfast conversation on design organised by the AIA New York Chapter and the Center for Architecture. Participants include Vincent Chang, AIA, Partner at Grimshaw-Architects and Rick Bell, FAIA, AIANY Executive Director.

At teatime, in the same conversation lounge there will be a discussion/Lab called “Cappellini, Vision of the Future” with Giulio Cappellini, Chantal Hamaide from Intramuros, and key Cappellini long-term collaborators designers, as well as select design students.

The iconic Italian brand Cappellini will present a two-part program at WantedDesign: An exhibition curated by Giulio Cappellini will depict the design leader’s evolution over the past 12 years; and the discussion lab on Sunday will delve into the vision of Cappellini.
