MILAN DESIGN WEEK _ One of the protagonists of iSaloni 2013 is the French designer Toan Nguyen. The designer was born in Paris and graduated in Industrial Design at ENSCI-Les Ateliers in Paris. He collaborated with Antonio Citterio as design director and design partner for ten years until he founded his own design studio based in Milan in 2008.

During the Milan Design week I had the opportunity to meet him and talk about his many collaborations to better understand his approach to design, especially how his attention to weave and warp differs from materials and techniques.

In occasion of the presentation of his WA dining collection in the Dedon booth, he talked about new products and future collaborations.

WA armchair recalls last year's chair called MU. The two fibers used for WA are smaller than those for MU, the weave itself is even finer, like a textile or skin, tautly stretched across the frame of the chair.

“I used two kind of fibers to give “vibration” to the weave to give the chair transparency and lightweight appearance”

Stay tuned to not miss the interviews with the protagonists of iSaloni 2013!
