COMPETITION _ ARCHmedium has launched the international competition San Francisco fire Department Headquarters. The aim of the competition is proposed ideas for the creation of a fire station in San Francisco that serves not only to centralize and improve the service but also as a gift and token of appreciation from the city to this department.

The new center should not only be a practical space designed to respond to the needs of firefighters, but must become an icon of the city which rose from the ashes and a reminder of the tragedy, a building that not only the people of San Francisco but the
San Francisco fire Department Headquarters entire world associates with the image of the fire department.

This competition is public and open to all architecture and related fields undergraduate students. Graduate, masters, and PhD students who are currently enrolled in some official course can also participate, but only if they obtained their undergraduate degree less than 3 years ago.

The jury will be formed by Francisco Mangado, Andreu ARRIOLA MADORELL, Alex Gimenez, Emiliano Lopez and Jordi Garcés.

The projects must be submitted by 31st July 2013.
