DESIGN - Nanimarquina, who have made refined raw materials and simple manufacturing the cornerstone of their entire production, presents a preview of Natural Collection, a new carpet collection that takes us to a breath-taking natural world.
The history of nanimarquina is based on a very clear idea: wanting to design rugs. It’s a simple statement, a transparent declaration of intent that has become a reality by putting into practice values such as observation, innovative endeavour, communication, emotion and knowing how to contemporise traditional craftsmanship.
Natural Collection has been produced with an exclusive selection of natural fibers that reflect the plurality that nature has to offer: nettle, afghan wool, silk and jute.
These fibers are twisted together to become a continuous thread, a highly laborious manual process that enriches the fabric, providing a soft and unique texture to each carpet. Each thread, each knot, transports us to the universe of the rug’s beginnings.
Natural Collection has been made with a highly laborious manual process and using biodegradable and chemical-free washing products, something that allowed nanimarquina to go a step further in their fight against environmental degradation.
After 25 years designing rugs, our thinking has been that true innovation lies, precisely, in creating rugs using what our environment gives us, like a plant that grows around us.
