Gray Malin is a California-based photographer best known for his aerial beach photography, debuted his latest series “The Art of Living” by installing iconic mid-century modern pieces on the top of a 15ft by 15ft mirrored platform hand-crafted with the help of local engineers in Bora Bora.

The floating mirrored stilts crafted by local engineers showcase exquisite furniture designs conceptualized by Eero Saarinen, Charles and Ray Eames, and Knoll. The series is the latest collaboration between the artist and the hotel brand.

"Inspired by the silhouette of Mount Otemanu in breathtaking Bora Bora, this series was specifically photographed from a vantage point where the mountain presented a symmetrical backdrop." Gray said.

Each piece of furniture, along with all the props and physical materials used to build the platform were delivered via airline freight shipments from the United States. Staging highly stylized elements of interior design in an unexpected setting, this series juxtaposes natural and man-made beauty and challenges the viewer to interpret the art of design anew."
