Ania Rosinke and Maciej Chmara are two young designers. They met during studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk. After finishing the studies in Poland, being two terms at the Kunstuniversitaet in Linz (space&design strategies), spending some time at the Akademie der bildenden Künste and the TU Wien (architecture), and looking for some experience in several offices, they launched their own studio chmara.rosinke based in Vienna.
If someone asks them: "What can you do?", they answer: "Commission us to design a project: we will make a chair a lamp or whatever you wish…we can draw pretty nice illustrations, our cheese cake is also quite tasty we can design an interior and the vegetable patch in the backyard and for ambitious clients we’ll design a whole house… and a clay oven….. we’ll cook open air, until everything is ready." They won several awards and their projects were displayed in Austria, France, Germany, Sweden, Czech Republic.
ome of their project are simply brilliant: the project Mobile Hospitality pays attention to the responsibility and the self-initiative in public spaces. The formal language of the objects is kept very clear. All the objects are made out of massive wood and replenished with additional functions, like the foot pump for running water or pots with growing spices. The project in form of a happening took place in 2011 in Dornbirn, Bregenz, Feldkirch and Vaduz.
