The aim of the James Ackerman Award is the annual publication of an original study in the field of architectural history. All periods are eligible within the field of architectural history, and there are no restrictions as to the nationality of the author.

James Sloss Ackerman is the doyen of the international community of architectural historians studying the epoch of the Renaissance. He is one of the scholars who created modern architectural history based on a systematic approach to the critical examination of all the written and visual sources.

The Award has been made possible by a donation to the Centro Internazionale di Studi di Architettura Andrea Palladio by James S. Ackerman through the BALZAN Prize he was conferred in 2001. Join the competition and publish your article on Archilovers!
