Floralibus | Andrea Nani

This project is inspired by three basic elements to: Nature, Mankind and Culture. Floralibus takes the inspiration for its final form from Nature’s fractal shapes. It started with a diamond-shaped unit, later jointed with other units of the same kind until it created a five-petal flower pattern. This pattern was then combined with other identical units, resulting in a lamp with a spherical structure. The Cultural element shows up inside the diamond shape, through the insertion of a decoration inspired by Indian brides’ Mendhi tattoos. The Man is the innovator who allows the material to be molded according to the project. Floralibus, dal latino floreale, è una lampada dalle molte possibilità in cui si riuniscono tre elementi fondamentali affinché l’oggetto possa acquistare senso: Natura, Uomo e Cultura. Al fine di comporre la struttura finale, si sono riprese dalla Natura le forme frattali. Ispirandosi a queste si è creato un modulo a diamante che, composto con altri moduli identici, è andato a creare un fiore a cinque petali. Più fiori, infine, sono stati uniti per generare varie versioni della lampada. La Cultura compare nel progetto attraverso l’inserimento, all’interno di ciascun diamante, di decorazioni ispirate ai motivi Mehndi dei tatuaggi delle spose indiane. L’Uomo, infine, è presente come innovatore che permette di plasmare il materiale con la tecnologia, secondo le proprie esigenze.
