Nh Palacio de Tepa Hotel is located in the historic building of classicist style built by the Earl of Tepa in the district of "Barrio de las Letras" in Madrid, completed in 1808 according to the project by Jorge Duran. The challenge of this project was to provide contemporary flavor inside the restored historic landmark building, while respecting its character. To achieve this we combined old and new unique elements with expertise in the building: large illuminated metal volumes, suspended under the skylight in the reception and the restaurant, let the natural light come in through the courtyard, while in the archaeological room the glass floor permits the view of the archeological remains. This variety of elements do not rival to achieve a homogeneous space, enhanced by the use of neutral colors that harmonize with noble marble throughout the building. The selection of materials, colors, textiles and furniture is made to enhance each without the prominence of one or other material in favor of the whole. The perception of space as a whole, considering each item and each finishing as an essential part of it and not overlapping elements, produces a result that is appealing in its simplicity and identity. Smoky oak, burnished bronze and leather fabric in tobacco and mink tones are used both in public and private spaces. The composition of carpets in the lobby and reception accompany the guest on the main spaces. The variety of rooms let you choose between suggestive vaulted spaces, spacious rooms with double height or warm attics. Every detail of the rooms has been taken care of, backlit leather upholstered headboards, desk with leather upholstery which hides a vanity mirror and spacious and soft bedside items. The whole proposal gives the hotel a strong personality, with a large environmental burden that seduces with its union of history and contemporaneity.
