Pimlott After looking at Mark Pimlott’s essay ''Only Within'' on the mall typology I investigated some of the principles behind the latter in order to come up with a methodology to analyse a certain area of Bradford along a chosen path between [Thornton Road], [City centre] and [Little Germany]. After an initial analysis of Bradford both on a macro and micro scale I looked at developing a strategy to increase the overall value of the area as means of overcoming the current insecure financial climate. Value was analysed on a 100m x 100m grid and subdivided in 4 separate components: heritage, proximity, land prices and perceived value, which were then overlaid on a comparative map to show points of polarities. This presented an opportunity to compare these and develop a design proposal for master planning an area. In my personal work I would be interested in locating points of polarities where for instance high price land values meet low infrastructure index values.
