IDEA The project for the new temporary pavilion for public use in Archivo gardens is interpreted as a public and cultural condenser where are located the synthesis and the essence of what happens in the main building and in Archivo garden. The limits of the project are the natural limits of the garden Archivo and the void becomes the common space of relationships, it is a determined absence, it is a dialectical and flexible place, it is a meeting place and an exhibition place, it is a place where the project is part of the context and the context is part of the project. In this sense we intend the concept of void as fullness, as a place socially concrete. PROJECT AND CONTEXT The idea of the project is to define correlations and interactions between the project and the context; in this sense the garden and the pavilion Archivo represent a totality. The project provides functional flexibility for the management of the space allowing the use both for conferences, workshops, exhibitions, concerts etc.. and respecting the maximum height of 3m. The lush garden is reflected and distorted on the surfaces of the pavilion defining a complex interaction between nature and artifice, and this also applies to the roof surface that reflects the sky. The cork flooring paradoxically defines a "tectonic continuity" with the ground vegetation, and its form is a distorted footprint of the roof; the design of the cork panels comes from the alignment of the plants in the garden. The pavilion has a steel structure covered with aluminum panels on which is applied a multilayer reflective film. The two structural supports are considered also as functional space for electric system and storage space. The flooring is made from a composition of cork granules and insulation corkboard with a PU binder, this cork has a minimum density of 400 kg/m3. The ceiling is characterized by compressed cork panels with a density of 200 kg/m3; in the space between the panels (5 cm) there are LED lights required for night illumination of the pavilion.
