A non-traditional eye to Sicily is certainly the strength of this project that brings a little slice of the island to the San Salvario district of Turin. The shop is envisaged as a bright and cosy space, where flavours and quality find their proper home. The interior design is the direct consequence of a profound reflection on mood and colour. The reference to the agave plant (zabbara in the local Sicilian dialect) is clear and used to give a sense of identity throughout the project. The furniture is all purposely designed using essential lines and colours (matte white, natural wood MDF and varnished metal shelves) and provide a clear yet tasteful reference to Sicilian folklore and traditions. The shelves are simply wine cellar modules transformed into display furniture, while the lamps make reference to town festivals. The space is the perfect setting for a vast selection of high level foods, wines and other regional products and is itself a tangible interpretation of the owner's passion and love for her homeland.
