Introduction The MINI display hall of G.A Group Xiamen Zhongbao is moved to the first floor of Commercial Bank Building at Hubin Northern Road from Zhongzi Building, which covers an area of 600 square meters, adjacent to the BMW city hall. In order to continually attract a large number of fashionable, truthful, free MINIers , the new showroom debuts according to the globalized MINI design standards. Solution The city hall is the smallest show place of MINI car showroom, which is relatively smaller with compact layout of the functional space. The designers follow personalized culture of MINI while reflecting the concept of MINI- 'small car, commodious room'. The design techniques like the principle of specular reflection are applied particularly to create the water reflection effect. The large area of black background serves as a special foil to the specular reflection scene on the ceiling, in particular, to increase the effects of lighting and to create illusory space of a lake under the moonlight. To construct a orderly space within the 600 square meters area, the designer employ color contrast and simulated roadway to separate vehicle displaying area, consulting zone and workspace. The decoration on the walls and pillars are used to identify the category of items on display and reflect MINI's unique personalized characteristics, which could be absolutely clear to customers.
