To share a meal. This project is immersed within the popular dimension of being at table together. In the kitchen, minute attention is paid to the balance of ingredients and flavours in every dish. The dining room is an area where the concepts of impartiality and sharing come into their own. White furniture, Beijing grey floors, walls and ceiling, a few rare traditional Chinese pieces, the contrast of intense colours – all together create a “Zen” ambience in which the soothing grey of the walls gleams as a foil to the dynamic, vintage posters of the Chinese workers’ propaganda. In concordance with the carefully planned lighting, this mix delineates a serene, calm space where only the food before you, and those sharing it with you, matter.
