This is a typical small appartment in downtown Milan. The renovation is based on few existing material as the wooden floor and the old ceiling. A large entrance leads to the main living space. Here the dining and TV area are separeted from the kitchen by an element that is both a wooden bookcase and a white pantry. This is also used as a filter between the two different spaces. Behind this furniture is the small kitchen. The general space is extended by the visual continuity between the different areas. A new large wooden floor also helps to unifie the overall space. The bathroom has been covered with a continuous resin surface that gives a better sense of continuity. Soft colors and clean surfaces define spaces where simple contemporary furnishings blend together with antiques one from the Italian craft tradition.
