Eucentre is a non-profit company founded by the Civil Protection Department, the Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, the University of Pavia, with the aim to promote, sustain and provide education and research concerning seismic hazard reduction. Innovations employed in this building represent experimental techniques unique in Europe; they range from development of the applied research in the earthquake engineering field to development of activities useful for defining specific public guidelines, to the training for operators with scientific and professional skills and to execution of scientific and technological consultancy activities. The project carried out by Eng. Lorenzo Duico, Eng. Gian Michele Calvi in collaboration with Eng. Filippo Dacarro and Eng. Maria Pia Scovenna, was conceived due to the need for new spaces to be destined to education and research. Sacea Industrie has provided operative Giano desks, Nest meeting tables and has taken care of designing with special and custom-build furnishment the spacious multimedia room provided with every modern piece of equipment necessary to communication.
