The area of the apartment is 65m2 and the terrace 25m2. Originally, it was divided into conventional areas: hall, living-dining room, kitchen, the child’s bedroom, the main bedroom and only one bathroom. It also had a long corridor; which was out of proportion for the size of the apartment. The kitchen was integrated into the living room to give the house more space, especially in the most used areas. The study was also integrated into the living room, whose table is used both as a worktop and as a dining table. The windows that look out into the terrace have been enlarged, so now there is more light and there is a direct view of the terrace, to enjoy the exterior like another part of the house. The metalwork applied isolates the apartment thermal and acoustically. In the kitchen, the cooking area connects directly with outside, making it easy to eat on the terrace in summer. There are two study tables (apart from the main dining room): one table that will be for the child and the other for the dad. The living area is separated from the sleeping area with a sliding door that is hidden inside the wardrobes that divide the dining room from the child’s bedroom. The child’s bedroom can be extended by opening the sliding doors, so the study is integrated into the room. The study can be cut off from the rest of spaces of the apartment by a folding glass door that separates it from the kitchen and the living room that still lets natural light enter. The different spaces of the house can be changed, through opening or closing the sliding doors to apply them to different uses. The floor of the house continues throughout, including the terrace that is installed like a raised floor, so it’s possible to lift the tiles up to put in electricity fittings in the future. It’s a porcelain earthenware floor with a comfortable texture, of a special color between green and blue that is called “Ocean Blue”. The continuous wall that connects the living and sleeping areas is painted in the same color.
