Carried out by: Studio workshop of Carmen Baselga “Taller de Proyectos”, Carmen Baselga – Mariola Marcet – Amparo Gastaldo The placement of 20 mobile structures into the square of Matadero Madrid, a contemporary art centre, united every part of this square and provided the flexibility needed for this changing and dynamic exhibition. Each piece of this outdoor project was designed with a standard European scaffolding system, catered for 6 – 8 people and was completely independent from the other as each one had its own solar covering and lighting, the latter being sensitive to daylight, switching on automatically as the sun went down. As the judges´ panel explained, first prize was awarded to this project “for its adaptation of the atmosphere found in a matadero (a slaughterhouse), its constructive language, simplicity to mount, mobility, economic factor and feasibility.” Photography by: Héctor Rubio
