Most Important Goals - Build a natural medicine clinic in a lot of the historical center of Valencia, on the same street and near the Central Market and the Loja de Valencia. Monuments declared World Heritage Site. - Design a multimedia ventilated façade, made entirely of silk-screened plate glass. - Integrate and harmonize the bioclimatic architectural structure of the building, mechanical systems, thermal conditioning. 2. Architectural Solution The architectural structure of the clinic pivots on two central courtyards, which provides natural lighting and ventilation to the whole. Thus the lines of communication of each floor of the building also serves as a natural ventilation channel. The most characteristic feature of the clinic is the multimedia front, which can go beyond their physical structure to a virtual structure, continuously interacting with the environment. In the back of the screen-printed glass is a LED screen, so that by varying its intensity and color can be an unlimited set of forms in motion. Furthermore, this glass is projected on all types of graphic images and videos, so that the facade becomes a living organism continually changing and interacting with citizens moving in front of the building. The ventilated facade has two chambers: the finish of the inner chamber is Ipe wood and the finish of the outer chamber is made of glass printed. Thus, the building is well protected from solar radiation, allowing large energy savings. The outer glass skin is made out of tempered laminated glass (4 +4 +4), decorated, with different layers of sunscreen. The facade has been made so that, despite its striking visual impression semitransparent, integrates seamlessly with the architectural structure of the facades of surrounding buildings. A rereading of the current media facades of Barrio del Carmen in Valencia. 3. Eco-friendly materials 1. Foundations and structure. Pillar structure and two drywall sheets. The inner sheet is lightweight precast concrete of 14 cm. thick (in some parts of the building have also been used Termoarcilla blocks of the same thickness). The outer sheet is lightweight precast concrete of 6 cm. Inside there is a double sheet of hemp insulation layer of 5 cm. and a ventilated air space of 3 cm. In some parts of the facade has been replaced the outer concrete panel, a ventilated façade based Ipe wood treated with vegetable oils. 2. Exterior finishes Silicate paint. Tongue and groove boards Ipe wood treated with vegetable oils, panel silkscreen tempered laminated glass (4 +4 +4), and zinc panels. 3. Interior finishes Paintings vegetables. Floors of linoleum and porcelain. Double panel doors chipboard, veneered beech, and treated with vegetable oils. Screenprinted tempered glass doors. 4. Cover The roof garden has an average thickness of 25 cm. of land. 5. Others Polypropylene water pipes. Polyethylene drainage pipes. Energy-efficient appliances. Walls and floors of high performance glass (anti-scratch, slip, easy cleaning, special screen ...). Pine woodwork treated with vegetable oils. Cotton canvas awnings. Shading of solid pine, treated with vegetable oils. 4. Highlights Innovations - Multimedia Front ventilated tempered laminated glass. - Integration of lightweight concrete precast panels with a reinforced concrete structure.
