Kapoor’s House | Marina Gomes

The residence of Anish Kapoor is projected in the interior lot located at Dr. Faivre Street, between Marechal Deodoro St. and Benjamin Constant St. in downtown Curitiba. The slightly sloping site is located between an Art Gallery and a Modern Residence. The house was projected taking advantage of the land topography. There are two blocks where occur the integration of the spaces and their respective functions, atelier, art gallery and residence. The gallery is located at the entrance of the building and has space for the exhibition of the artist’s works. The atelier is integrated with gallery. The living room and the dining room, with double feet, are located on the next level. The kitchen is integrated with the living room and dining room. They have access for the exterior patio and service dependencies. The suite is situated on the upper deck and the access is by the living room stairs. The patio adjoins the living room complementing the space of rest and leisure. The double height of the living and dining room provides an ambient with plenty of natural light through the large windows in glass fixed and mobile. The spaces were projected with their respective openings for ventilation and illumination according the sloping site.
