House 131 | Pedro Fernandes Santos

The house is located at Rua Elias Garcia, no. 131, in the city of Póvoa de Varzim, a consolidated urban area, characterized by narrow and deep lots. The land is around 400m2.
The main facade faces south and the rear part of the house and courtyard face north. Given the constraints of solar orientation and consequent sun exposure, in the organization of the house and three-dimensional modeling, there was a need to create patios on the various floors, in order to capture the maximum amount of direct sunlight. This premise resulted in all leisure, living and sleeping spaces having direct light.
The house is spread over four floors

On the floor at street level, we have the main entrance, on the north facade, which leads to the garage, pantry, hall of the house, guest toilet and stairwell accessing the upper floors. At the back we have the kitchen, dining room and living room, with these last two spaces being separated by an outdoor patio, which allows capturing the southern light. The living room faces the outdoor patio.

On the 1st floor we have a hall that leads to the suite and office. The office overlooks the mezzanine into the dining room.
On the 2nd floor we again have a hall that distributes to two suites and laundry room.
On the top floor, we have a multipurpose space with direct access to the south-facing terrace.
