OFFICE SPACE IN THE MAS DE MIQUEL BUILDING | Metronom

Renovation of an old house in the Mas de Miquel building, a historic noucentista-style building on Avenida Diagonal, and the first with a reinforced concrete structure in the city. The apartment is transformed for a new use: from residential to offices. This operation is carried out without affecting the value and noble character of the main rooms, which are linked along the façade by means of glass doors with a bourgeois feel. Featuring the organic shapes of the access atrium, through curved geometries, the old distribution – highly compartmentalized with corridors and old mezzanines- is modified to achieve more fluidity in use and interesting crossed perspectives.

Reforma de una antigua vivienda en el edificio Mas de Miquel, edificio histórico de estilo noucentista en la Avenida Diagonal, y primer edificio con estructura de hormigón armado de la ciudad. Se transforma el piso para un nuevo uso: pasa de residencial a oficinas. Se realiza esta operación sin afectar el valor y el carácter noble de las estancias principales, que están concatenadas a lo largo de la fachada mediante puertas vidriadas de carácter burgués. Recogiendo las formas orgánicas del atrio de acceso, mediante geometrías curvas, se cambia la antigua distribución -altamente compartimentada con servidumbres de paso y antiguos altillos- para conseguir más fluidez en el uso e interesantes visiones cruzadas.
