Sky Farm is the home of Balanced Earth Architects director Michael Leung, his wife Tiffany and their two boys. The property began with a small Hempcrete Villa where they all lived for several years before designing and building the main house with help from graduate architect Leo DewiZe and the Balanced Earth Building family.

With Hempcrete at the heart of Balanced Earth, naturally it was chosen by Michael and Tiffany to form the walls of their home. The varying properMes of hemp combine to help Sky Farm feel fresh and healthy throughout the seasons.

Sustainability:

• 122,000l harvested rainwater

• hempcrete walls throughout

• reclaimed Mmber as exposed trusses

• passive solar design with fully glazed northern aspect allowing warmth from the winter sun to be captured in the slab floor. Large eaves protect the the home from the intensity of the high summer heat.

• breathable lime and clay renders used on internal and external walls.
