Wayfinding – Telegraph office complex

Where can you work in the middle of the city in a relaxed atmosphere with a view into nature and, if the weather is nice, move the meeting into the garden? At Köpenicker Straße 122 (Berlin-Mitte). The former post and telegraph workshops became a place of communication for digital working worlds. The signage unfolds from the street and the bike garage across the 3 courtyards to the interior areas, contributing to the particular vibrancy of this working environment. A green site of dynamic spaces, combining urbanity with sustainability, oasis meets hip Berlin.

According to latest surveys, almost one in four German employees goes to the office unmotivated (23 percent). To change that, experts say more freedom of choice for employees or more flexible working hours would help. Employee motivation depends on the generation and the industry, among other things.

With the wayfinding system at the Telegraph office complex, the design bureau Studio Gourdin tries to make the working environment more pleasant and ensure that people can find their way around their workplace easily and have fun at all.

When designing the new wayfinding system, the design studio puts people first. In the planning stage it is therefore especially important to identify the needs and requirements of the users and incorporate these. Through their work, they want to contribute to added value for tenants and owners. They create better quality of life and make a good contribution to a distinctive atmosphere. This results in a high level of identification with the site and the satisfaction of the people increases.

Also, a perfect working environment for Berlin cyclists was created. An underground bicycle garage with e-charging stations, workshop station and showers. A big step towards sustainable mobility.
