Mustafa Kemal Atatürk lived in this house with his mother, sister and aide-de-camp from December 1918 until they set out for Samsun in May 1919.
It was purchased by the Istanbul Municipality in 1928 to be converted into a museum. The museum was opened to visitors in 1942 under the name 'Atatürk Revolution Museum' by the then Governor and Mayor of Istanbul, Lütfi Kırdar. The building was taken into static repair in 1977 and was reopened as the 'Atatürk Museum' in 1981, the 100th anniversary of Atatürk's birth. The museum, which was restored in 2014, was put into service again in its current form in 2015.

The building, built by Osep Kasapyan in 1908, was designed in the Art Nouveau style. The entrance of the four-storey building is located in the north direction.

Designs were made to exhibit Atatürk's personal belongings in the museum. Additionally, equipment and modules for the floors were designed. Manufacturing controls were carried out. The interior arrangement was made between 2014-2015.

Historical documents, books, Atatürk's personal belongings, uniforms, photographs, handwritten documents and souvenirs are exhibited in the museum
