The award-winning Pink House residence was celebrated at the House & Garden Top 50 rooms awards, shortlisted for “Best Use of Art”. Established as a heritage cottage nestled in Neutral Bay, the inspiration for the brief emerged from the client’s passion for Kit Kemp and Christopher Farr textiles. An extension to the property in the north-west direction granted 6 square metres of extra internal floor space, uplifting the floor layout of the overall property. The dining room was reimagined as a conduit between the existing garden and main house, set two steps below kitchen level with large steel doors flowing to the fresh entertaining deck. The space paired back the intimacy of the banquette seating area with a charming daybed adjacent, with each adjustment enhancing the flow of everyday living. The use of pink was a notion seen across the spectrum of the residential layout. It appears in furniture, artworks and decorative elements, creating continuity through niche detail in the cottage.
