Design of a small duplex apartment, a total of 105 square meters

We were called to design a duplex apartment that before the renovation was divided into two bedrooms and a study on the lower floor, and a living room with a kitchen on the upper floor.

The apartment has three distinct directions and has one rounded front. You can overlook the sea and part of Jaffa and the existing Tel Aviv towers and those that are growing.

According to the program, we were asked to create a bedroom and another master bedroom, two full bathrooms and showers, another bathroom, a luxurious living room and a large, fully equipped kitchen. with an emphasis on hospitality.

The entrance to the apartment was low and very dark, we destroyed the low ceiling, flooded it with light and created a ceiling covering full of dark wood in which we planted the spots and the hidden lighting, which meets the weak corridor covering on the entire wall, accompanying, and smoothing technical and decorative functions such as the entrance to the bedroom and the shower.

On this floor, the public space is actually a transit station that connects to a stair element that accompanies it from the lower floor to the ceiling height of the upper floor, a mirror with a smoked-aged finish with the help of acid, on which there are black aluminum divisions that correspond with the staircase and create curiosity, along with a floor-ceiling string railing which he also adds A layer of interesting glimpses of the views and the collection of materials chosen for this apartment.

On the upper floor, a sloped ceiling dictates the tile roof of the building where the apartment is located, which was a design challenge, we chose a more exposed and revealing industrial style design that blends harmoniously with the design concept, in order to produce a "straight ceiling" we had to hang everything from the ceiling and let gravity balance the elements, the way we hung the air conditioning duct, the avenue of central lighting fixtures, and the spots "adjacent" to the sloping ceiling, we chose with the ability to adjust.

We chose to paint the sloping ceiling in the kitchen area black to define a space and create formal and continuous silence for the jagged geometry of the apartment in general and the ceiling in particular.

The material discourse brings together the world of the couple with their three dogs and the boy who still stays at home, the hotelier and the tight-lipped, against the grunge-Japanese-punky industrial.
