REFORM OF THE CENTRE COMERCIAL RIVER

The new façade of the River is a dress tailored to the circumstances, which involves the updating, remodelling and adaptation that the shopping centre is undergoing.

The existing volume is modified with a lightweight cladding of aluminium composite, which folds to form a canopy in such a way that the presence of the main entrance is visually enhanced. All of the vertical planes are white and the horizontal planes red.

Throughout the day the smooth polished surface of the lightweight aluminum panels is an ever-changing sequence of reflections and shadows that reduce the impact of such a large volume on its surroundings.

At night, a linear LED sequence hugging the folds highlights the volume of the façade and creates a striking but pleasing lighting scheme.

These planes and leaps of the façade accommodate the proximity signage. The large signage logosign is reused and placed on the roof.

The upper part is crowned with large déployé plates that allow strong winds to pass through and screen from view the roofs and service installations. Finally, a plinth formed by a high-performance window and door systems on a base of black Zimbabwe granite concludes the whole volume and includes the main entrance, emergency exits and secondary accesses.
