Anáhuac Pavilion - Puebla.

Ephemeral and experimental, capable of giving us the opportunity to approach the architectural dimension, that is what a pavilion is.

Within the framework of the fall semester in the Architectural Details class at the Universidad Anáhuac Puebla, an exercise was carried out to close the semester. The idea was to design, plan and build a 1:1 scale model, an idea that was gradually transformed into a pavilion.

The objective of this exercise, which we could call a workshop, was for the students to conceive an architectural idea that would make the leap to materiality, dispelling the great doubt of how to go from plan to reality, this was for most of the students the first approach to the field of construction, not only that, the experience was enhanced by being a self-built project and self-financed by the students themselves. This exercise exceeded the students' expectations, and a sense of responsibility and attachment to their work emerged that had not been observed during the theoretical part of the class.

The pavilion was thought as a kind of organic trace, an undulating line, trying to connect with the trees that are located in the area that was assigned for this temporary construction, on the other hand the materiality was planned in clay ceramic partition, deployed on natural terrain, The material was planned in clay ceramic brick, laid on natural soil, with a dry joint, hiding in the cavities of the brick the connections based on wet tepetate to tie the structure and generate a shear key, some vertical rods link the rows every 80 cm to ensure the behavior of the structure.

Today you can see inside the university campus this undulating, raw and colorful object that tries to seduce its observers, capable of enveloping them in an almost artistic atmosphere of comfort, establishing the premise that architecture exists until it is inhabited by human beings.
