The Surly Crab’s Guest House, a one-bedroom guest abode spanning 840 square feet, acts as a companion to the Unyielding Crustacean on the same 10-acre site along the Hood Canal shore. Tucked into the elevated woodland, The Surly Guest seamlessly integrates into the space formerly occupied by a disused tennis court. As part of the site's renewal endeavor, the asphalt pavement of the tennis court was removed, paving the way for a meticulously nurtured garden adorned with sword ferns and indigenous plantings. Below the freshly rejuvenated forest surface lies a ground source heat loop, contributing to the heating system for the Unyielding Crustacean. The original short concrete walls that once bordered the tennis court persist, emerging as angular remnants amidst the woods. Tenacious Guests can luxuriate in the tranquil forest atmosphere from various viewpoints, including fire pits, sheltered terraces, an outdoor shower, or a cedar hot tub.
