Mill Table is a machine built Open Source furniture project.

The idea behind open sourced architecture is that anyone could take the "recipe" and
build it locally. It cuts down the costs of transport, packaging and delivery, reducing
considerably the carbon footprint of the process. In addition to ecological reasons, to
build locally means redirecting work toward local craftsmans, thus an healtier economy.
Moreover all the resources of the design phases are always online on the chosen
platforms, enabling fellow designers to modify the table to their own accord and repost it
online.

The table is built in all its parts by a cnc machine, thus all the joints and connections are
worked around the milling potential of the most common three axis router. Following one
of the three versions currently available, all the pieces fits into two to three standard size
commercial plywood sheets.

As described in the assembly manual, no power tools are necessary to complete the
table, beside sanding, gluing and oiling the completed parts.

The original idea sprung from the necessity to design a custom table for the office own
meeting room, hence the pictured table sports a self-healing mat as a top finish layer.
The second and third versions are one designed to be as light and cheap as possible,
removing part of the frame pieces frameless version while the other comes with a full
plywood top finish. The main development ended with the publication of the three base
versions, but the source material is online on the dedicated github site and totally
customizable to the end user; standard size is 90x220 cm.
