Transformation is the opportunity to do more and better with what already exists. Demolishing is an easyand short-term decision. It is a waste of energy, material and identity. 

In recent decades, every square meter has become a financial product, houses in good condition aredemolished in all neighborhoods and with this they are losing their identity and Devoto is a clear example ofthis.

This project consisted of the renovation and re-functionalization of a single-family home in a chalet from the90s located in Villa Devoto, which we converted into a mixed-use apartment building, two homes, one of200m2 and the other of 70 m2, an architecture studio and a dental clinic.

It is a mistake not to see where the value is and what it can contribute to a project. As a studio, whenever wecan we choose not to demolish, to transform, to reuse what is pre-existing, to improve it, there are alwayssituations of great wealth, due to their constructive quality. , this is the case of the masonry work seenexecuted in this house, and for what these houses contribute to the environment, maintaining the low-scaleurban profile.

It is also about transforming by adding something, about using what is pre-existing as a starting point tocreate something new, so that with that addition what has been transformed is more effective than itsdemolition or replacement with something completely new, it is about creating with what is already there. ,perceiving existing structures as an "opportunity" and an inventory of resources, using less material, lessenergy and less money, is about being efficient and sustainable. and above all to create a new architecture,understanding that the square meters that served a single use in another era, today can serve several,achieving spaces that respond to current needs, much larger environments and with a better interiorrelationship - abroad.
