District Office Police | Bovenbouw Architectuur

The new police building is robust and transparent at the same time. This is in line with the police's wish to create a building that simultaneously can be accessible and safe. We do not limit ourselves to the design of the facade with the large windows facing the street. We are also introducing two larger spaces in the building, which are shielded on the one hand, but also open to the environment. The public space near the entrance with reception desk is a place where citizens can get information. The landscape office at the back, the shared working environment for the police staff, has large windows facing the garden. We introduce colours and warm materials to avoid a sterile office environment; professional requirements such as bullet resistance and running time are of equal importance as transparency and atmosphere. Along the rear we provide a green backyard that overlooks the landscape behind. By framing the backyard between the carport on the one hand and the newly planted trees on the border with the fire brigade site on the other, the landscape office enjoys a pleasant perspective on the landscape.

Het nieuwe politiegebouw is tegelijkertijd robuust en transparant. Dit sluit nauw aan bij de wens van de politie om een gebouw te maken dat tegelijkertijd laagdrempeligheid en veiligheid kan uitstralen. We beperken ons hierbij niet louter tot het gevelbeeld. Ook in het gebouw introduceren we twee grotere ruimtes die enerzijds afgeschermd zijn, maar zich ook openen naar de omgeving. Het betreft enerzijds de publieke ruimte aan de straat, waar burgers terecht kunnen, en anderzijds het landschapskantoor achteraan, grenzend aan de tuin. Hier hebben politieagenten een plek om te werken in een gemeenschappelijk kantoor. We vermijden een steriele kantooromgeving; het interieur is zakelijk maar tegelijk dynamisch, kleurrijk en warm. Harde eisen als kogelwerendheid en looptijd gaan hand in hand met transparantie en belevingskwaliteit. Langs de achterzijde voorzien we een groene achtertuin die uitkijkt op het achterliggende landschap. Door de achtertuin te kaderen tussen enerzijds de carport en anderzijds de nieuwe beplanting op de grens met het terrein van de brandweer, geniet het landschapskantoor van een aangenaam perspectief op het landschap.
