Beton Eisack HQ | Pedevilla Architects

During an expansion from 2002, the headquarters of the Beton-Eisack company in Klausen had been supplemented by a striking office building by architects Armin Blasbichler and Matthias Rainer, which ever since prominently forms the entrance to the company grounds in a levitating manner. The aim of the current project was – 20 years later – to create functionally efficient and pleasant spaces that would meet the company's changed needs while providing an appropriate stage for the concrete that is being developed and produced by the company. Fundamentally new is a space for seminars and other events.
 
The building is accessed through a spiral staircase that rearranges the entrance situation in a central location. A future- and demand-oriented mix of open-plan and individual offices with various meeting options for staff and managers extends over two floors of the levitating volume.
 
Two inner courtyards and a number of cupola-like skylights significantly improve the daylight situation and sound insulation compared to the existing building, creating a contemporary working atmosphere. Both inner courtyards also create noise-protected outdoor areas for the employees, as the concrete factory is not only busy, but also located right near the Brenner motorway.
 
The project is an identity-forming headquarters that interprets the transformation 2002-2022 according to the motto "from grey to green" and carries it out by utilising various concrete technologies. The existing grey concrete shell is retained unchanged due to its established "brand message". Characteristic for the interior, on the other hand, is the predominant use of green-pigmented lightweight concrete with a variety of surface structures, as well as black steel and glass.

Im Zuge einer Erweiterung aus dem Jahr 2002 war die Hauptverwaltung der Firma Beton-Eisack in Klausen unter anderem um ein markantes Bürogebäude der Architekten Armin Blasbichler und Matthias Rainer ergänzt worden, welches in schwebender Manier den Eingang zum Firmengelände bildet.  Ziel des aktuellen Projekts war es 20 Jahre später – unter Beibehaltung der bestehenden Außenhülle des Gebäudes – funktional effiziente und angenehme Räumlichkeiten zu schaffen, die dem seither veränderten Bedarf des Unternehmens gerecht werden und dem dort entwickelten und produzierten Beton als atmosphärischem Baustoff eine angemessene Bühne geben. Im Kern des Projekts steht dabei ein Bereich für Seminare und andere Veranstaltungen.
 
Die Erschließung des Gebäudes erfolgt über einen Treppenkern, der die Eingangssituation an zentraler Stelle neu ordnet. In der schwebenden Struktur entsteht darüber hinaus ein zukunfts- und bedarfsorientierter Mix aus Großraum- und Einzelbüros mit verschiedenen Besprechungsmöglichkeiten für die Mitarbeiter und Führungskräfte. Durch zwei Innenhöfe und mehrere kuppelartige Oberlichter werden die Tageslichtsituation wie auch der Schallschutz gegenüber dem Bestand deutlich verbessert, wodurch eine zeitgemäße Arbeitsatmosphäre erreicht wird. Die beiden Innenhöfe erzeugen im betriebsamen Betonwerk an der Brennerautobahn gleichzeitig lärmgeschützte Freibereiche für die Mitarbeiter.
 
Die Zentrale des Betonwerks ist ein identitätsstiftendes Headquarter, das die Transformation 2002-2022 nach dem Motto „from grey to green“ interpretiert und unter Ausschöpfung verschiedener betontechnologischer Möglichkeiten vollzieht. Die bestehende graue Betonhülle wird aufgrund ihrer etablierten „Markenbotschaft“ unverändert beibehalten. Charakteristisch für den Innenausbau ist hingegen die überwiegende Verwendung von grün pigmentiertem Leichtbeton mit verschiedenen Oberflächenstrukturen, Schwarzstahl und Glas.

Durante l’ampliamento del 2002, la sede centrale dell'azienda Beton Eisack (nel comune di Chiusa) è stata ingrandita degli architetti Armin Blasbichler e Matthias Rainer con un imponente edificio sospeso per uffici, che costituiva l'ingresso alla sede aziendale. L'obiettivo del nuovo intervento era quello di creare, a distanza di 20 anni, spazi efficienti e piacevoli dal punto di vista funzionale, in grado di soddisfare le mutate esigenze dell'azienda e di fornire un contesto adeguato per il calcestruzzo che viene sviluppato e prodotto dall'azienda.
L'involucro originale dell'edificio è stato lasciato intatto; la novità fondamentale è uno spazio per seminari e altri eventi.

All'edificio si accede attraverso una scale a spirale che riorganizza la zona dell’ingresso in una posizione piu’ centrale. Inoltre, all’interno del volume sospeso, suddiviso su due piani, si sviluppa un mix orientato all’innovazione e alla domanda di uffici open space / individuali con varie possibilità di incontro per il personale e i dirigenti.
 
Due cortili interni e una serie di lucernari a cupola migliorano notevolmente la quantità di luce diurna e l'isolamento acustico rispetto all'edificio esistente, creando un'atmosfera di lavoro all'avanguardia. Entrambi i cortili interni creano anche aree esterne protette dal rumore per i dipendenti, poiché la fabbrica di calcestruzzo non solo è molto frequentata, ma si trova anche vicino all'autostrada del Brennero

Il progetto da vita a una “nuova” sede che forma l'identità e interpreta la trasformazione “2002-2022” secondo il motto "dal grigio al verde" e la realizza utilizzando il calcestruzzo con tecniche e soluzioni diverse. L'involucro esistente in cemento grigio viene mantenuto inalterato in virtù del suo consolidato "marchio di fabbrica". Per gli interni, invece, è stato reso predominante l'uso di calcestruzzo leggero pigmentato di verde con una varietà di lavorazioni superficiali, oltre che di acciaio e di vetri neri.
