The HMZ House is nestled within the beautiful La Loma Country Club in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. This two-story residence was designed to provide comfort for a family of six, with a unique twist. The head of the household, who works in the construction industry, had a special request – a house made entirely of concrete. This unconventional challenge intrigued our design team, known for their expertise in creating captivating spaces.

When we approach a new architectural project, we take inspiration from the great Luis Barragán, focusing on spaces that go beyond the conventional. In the case of the HMZ House, we aimed to create more than just rooms and bathrooms. We crafted a space that tells a story, with a flowing, carefully designed path that connects all the functional areas.

What sets this project apart is the family's overwhelming joy in response to these distinctive spaces. While they loved what they initially asked for, they were pleasantly surprised by the new ways we approached space. Elements such as lighting, pathways, silence, sobriety, drama, and a touch of romanticism were woven into the fabric of the house, making it an exceptionally special place to live and share with loved ones.

The HMZ House is a sanctuary that looks inward. Even though every room offers stunning views of the golf course and the possibility to open up the entire floor plan for a seamless connection, it's a residence that requires exploration. We've never been proponents of displaying ourselves from the outside, and this principle is one of the key concepts that define the house.

Last but not least, we believe that this project has brought us a step closer to achieving our vision of architecture as sculpture. Throughout our careers, this has been our guiding theme, and the HMZ House stands as a testament to that pursuit.
