Located in the heart of South Yarra, Rockley Gardens navigates nature and the built environment.

Sitting adjacent to parklands, Rockley Gardens enters a dialogue with the lush landscape next door, becoming part of the building itself.

The park-facing facade turns the garden into a vertical plane. A series of angled mirrors set above and beneath planter boxes reinforces the vegetation, reflecting the park beyond to play with relativity, perception and position.

An infinite image of green space encircles the architecture. Reflective glazing offers privacy to residents while binding Rockley Gardens’ parklands and building as one.

The building is covered with an abstracted layer of suspended planter boxes accessible to apartment residents, recalling Geoffrey Bawa’s Kandalama Hotel in Dambulla, Sri Lanka.

Bespoke kitchen islands have built-in shelf storage and accent marble cladding on range hoods. Picture rails, pot fillers and detailed alcove joinery provide the amenity of a traditional house in an apartment.

A celebration of the urbane pleasures of South Yarra, Rockley Gardens fully embraces its locality while encouraging individual expression.
