This work of art contains the entire history of the local maritime culture and of this rowing tradition which has been recurring for almost 100 years in a challenge called the Palio del Golfo.

The main concept of the work is to create a light tensegrity structure that almost floats on the surface of the water, enclosing the 13 elements oriented radially according to the geographical layout of the gulf.

The stainless steel elements take up the shape and section of the hulls of the same boats used in the race and are anchored to the fountain bed thanks to a raised steel ring.

The challenge of creating these elements as light and sustainable as possible was possible thanks to the use of an innovative manufacturing process which consists of air inflation of the elements.
