Glamping Outlands Concéntrico | S-AR stación-ARquitectura

The project is about connections. First the connection between people and nature through a destination. Secondly to connect different pieces inside a specific landscape, connecting them with their material nature and programs as some pieces depend on others when creating an ensemble. Third, to connect the goodness of protection and security in  architecture with the forest's force and apparent unchangingness. 

The project has a first stage of a glamping composed by different built pieces in the lower area of a forest terrain in the Sierra de Santiago, Nuevo León, México, located in the outskirts of Monterrey city.

The program is divided into a central platform of common use in a rectangular shape. It holds gathering spaces (dining and campfire) built with a concrete and stone wall, bricks, tree bark as fillers. A multi use room located over a preexisting firm platform from an old terrace (including the old and peculiar chimney in the salon). It is built with a combined structure of steel and wood that aligns lengthwise of the central platform as the kitchen unit made of steel and concrete aligns wide (serving the dining room). Monolithic concrete elements make paths, seats and steps to connect these different pieces physically and visually. Finally, the ensemble is completed by an enigmatic concrete cube in the forest, built further than the other pieces holding the common bathrooms.  

The resting and living areas are a series of small cabins (each holding one room, living, bathroom and terrace) and other  minimal refugees (room with roof terrace). These are built with a mix of concrete, steel, metallic sheet and wood. The spaces are arranged on the hillsides of the terrain, far from the common areas in aim to obtain greater privacy between the trees of the wooded land. 

The chromatic palette of the chosen materials (gray, black, white, yellow, red) fades and is absorbed by the prevailing colors of the forest (brown, dark green, black).

The new abstract pieces lie in the natural millenary forest.  They are the first in this new place without local precedent, blend among the enormous nature and these small architectural pieces.

El proyecto trata de conexiones. Primero conectar a las personas con la naturaleza a través de un destino. Segundo conectar diferentes piezas dentro de un paisaje determinado, conectándolas materialmente y programáticamente puesto que unas piezas dependen de otras creando un conjunto. Tercero, conectar las bondades de protección y seguridad de la arquitectura con la fuerza y la aparente inmutabilidad del bosque.

El proyecto consiste en la primera etapa de un glamping compuesto por diversas piezas construidas en la zona baja de un terreno boscoso en la Sierra de Santiago, Nuevo León, México, a las afueras de la ciudad de Monterrey.

El programa se divide en una plataforma central de uso común en forma rectangular, que contiene espacios de reunión (el comedor y el fogatero) construida con un perímetro de concreto y piedras, ladrillo y cortezas de árbol como rellenos; un salón polivalente colocado sobre una plataforma (firme) pre-existente de una antigua terraza (incorporando la vieja y peculiar chimenea en el salón), construido de estructura mixta de acero y madera, que se alinea a lo largo de la plataforma central mientras que un módulo de cocina, hecho de concreto y acero, se alinea al lado ancho (dando servicio al comedor). Elementos monolíticos de concreto hacen caminos, asientos y escalones para conectar estas diferentes piezas física o visualmente. Finalmente, el conjunto se completa por un enigmático cubo de concreto en el bosque, construido un poco más apartado a las otras piezas, que contiene los sanitarios comunes.

Los espacios de descanso y estar son una serie de pequeñas cabañas (que contienen 1 habitación, estar, baño y terraza) y otra de refugios mínimos (habitación con cubierta-mirador), construidos con una mezcla de concreto, acero, lámina metálica y madera. Estos espacios están dispuestos en las laderas del terreno, alejados de las zonas comunes, obteniendo así un mayor grado de privacidad entre los árboles del terreno boscoso.

La paleta cromática de los materiales seleccionados (gris, negro, blanco, amarillo, rojo) se pierde y es absorbido por los colores predominantes del bosque (café, verde oscuro, negro).

Las nuevas piezas abstractas yacen en el bosque natural, milenario. Son las primeras de este nuevo lugar, sin precedentes locales, mezcla entre la enorme naturaleza y estas pequeñas piezas de arquitectura.
