ROWS OF HOUSES BETWEEN VINEYARDS - from stone mountains to wooden greenery

The project involved the construction of a new residential building with three residential units on two above-ground floors with basement cellars. Its rectangular shape, and volumetrically compact, is mainly due to its orientation to the sun, as well as the rows of the adjacent vineyards.

In order to fit the new building into a heterogeneous architectural context, it was decided to work on a concept of material and formal unity so as to generate a cohesive shell in reinforced concrete, which generates three living units inside it, characterised by wooden surfaces and green vertical walls. On the whole, thanks to a sensitive subdivision of the main volume, it has been possible to distinguish the residential character, divided in three distinct residential units in a non-invasive manner, lightening the built volume so as to ensure a careful insertion into the context made mostly of buildings with few residential units.

The entrances to the individual residential units are located to the north, and are separated for each unit, with small outdoor patios bordered by light separations that are in essence like private outdoor atriums. A wide main walkway leads to the parking spaces located perpendicular to the municipal road and set back from it so that pedestrians can walk safely and off the roadway.

The gardens are arranged to the south of the plot, constituting the main outdoor space, towards which the living area on the ground floor of the dwellings is oriented.
Internally, each individual unit has an entrance space on the ground floor adjacent to the guest services, which together with the kitchen and stairs, generate a central core that acts as a diaphragm between the outside and the living area with fireplace. The same central core provides people with a fluidity of movement that renders the spatial experience varied and without physical obstructions or cul-de-sac spaces. On the upper floor are two medium-sized rooms, a bathroom and a room with a private bathroom. The central space is designed as a small office, study or play area for children with natural zenithal lighting.

On the cellar floor are the technology and storage space for the individual units. On the roof, on the other hand, there will only be solar panels, sanitary ventilation and, for the central dwelling, three zenithal openings that allow radiation and natural ventilation of the corridor and bathrooms.

FILARI DI CASE TRA FILARI DI VIGNA – dalle montagne lapidee al verde ligneo
Il progetto ha previsto l’edificazione di un nuovo edificio residenziale avente tre unità abitative sviluppate su due piani fuori terra con cantine interrate. La sua forma rettangolare, e volumetricamente compatta, è da ricondurre principalmente all’orientamento solare come ben insegnano i filari delle vigne adiacenti.

Per inserire il nuovo edificio in un contesto architettonico eterogeneo, si è deciso di lavorare su un concetto di unitarietà materica e formale così da generare un guscio coeso in cemento armato il quale genera al suo interno tre unità abitative caratterizzate da superfici lignee e pareti verticali verdi. Nel complesso, grazie ad una suddivisione sensibile del volume principale, si è riusciti a distinguere in modo non invasivo il carattere residenziale caratterizzato da tre unità abitative distinte, alleggerendo il volume edificato così da garantire un inserimento attento al contesto caratterizzato per lo più da edifici con poche unità abitative.

Le entrate alle singole unità abitative si trovano a Nord, sono separate per ogni unità e ben distinte tra loro, con piccoli patii esterni delimitati da separazioni leggere i quali risultano in sostanza come degli atrii esterni privati. Grazie ad un largo camminamento principale si raggiungono i posteggi siti perpendicolarmente alla strada comunale e arretrati dalla stessa così da permettere il camminamento dei pedoni in sicurezza e fuori dalla carreggiata.

I giardini sono disposti a Sud del mappale costituendo lo spazio esterno principale, verso il quale si orienta la zona giorno al piano terreno delle abitazioni.
Internamente ogni singola unità ha al piano terreno uno spazio d’entrata adiacente al servizio ospiti il quale assieme alla cucina e alle scale, generano un nucleo centrale che funge da diaframma tra l’esterno e la zona giorno con camino. Lo stesso nocciolo centrale garantisce alle persone una fluidità di movimenti i quali rendono l’esperienza spaziale varia e senza ostruzioni fisiche o spazi cul-de-sac. Al piano superiore trovano spazio due camere di medie dimensioni, un bagno ed una camera con bagno privato. Lo spazio centrale è stato ideato come piccolo ufficio, zona studio o giochi per i più piccoli con illuminazione naturale zenitale.

Al piano cantina sono posizionati la tecnica e lo spazio di deposito per le singole unità. Sul tetto invece, vi saranno unicamente i pannelli solari, la ventilazione sanitarie e, per l’abitazione centrale, tre aperture zenitali che permettono l’irraggiamento e la ventilazione naturale del corridoio e dei bagni.
