Due to the poor state of conservation, it was understood that the recovery of the building was an urgent matter given the imminent risk of the facade collapsing. In the set of interventions, in addition to restoring the necessary safety and hygiene conditions, the goal was to preserve the history and authenticity of the building by enhancing its architectural character and residential typology, although adapted to contemporary conditions.

In this context, the main facades were preserved, the stairwell core was stabilized, and the entire interior layout was reorganized, defining a clearer and more linear separation between social spaces and private spaces.

For the new apartments, the existing philosophy was reversed, placing social spaces near the entrance of the residences and facing the more dynamic "urban fronts" - Morais Soares and Francisco Sanches streets.
