This is a comprehensive refurbishment project in a listed building from  from the early 1900s in the centre of Madrid. The original entrance to the dwelling encountered a wall that covered the building's communal stairs that lead to the

undercover floor. This initial difficulty finally became a volumetric opportunity for the refurbished house. The original layout compartmentalised all the spaces, while the proposal seeked to unite them as the grid of the original wooden structure made this possible. The large living-dining room opens onto a large south-facing terrace from which the house receives a large part of the light. The kitchen and the office look out to receive this light and the spaces are articulated through a terracotta cupboard that operates as a hinge-volume. The proposal experiments with two clear materials: wood and stoneware. The furniture designed for each room inhabits the edges, equipping the spaces (and even accommodating vegetation), thus freeing up the central space for a greater flexibility of use.
