The Kalkhof-Rose Hall of the Academy of Sciences and Literature in Mainz is ceremonially opened. The new chamber music hall was initiated and financed by Sibylle Kalkhof-Rose. The 120-square-metre room is built entirely of wood, like the body of an instrument, and impresses with its extremely good acoustics.
I am very pleased that our installation LEAVES enriches the successful architecture of Timm Hellbach of the office Mamuth in two places at once. A smaller installation welcomes visitors on the ground floor and leads them upstairs, where the porcelain leaves of a three-metre-long LEAVES fly in the open-air space above the staircase.
