Myconian Mythodea | RAFA- ARCHITECTS

The accommodation 'MYCONIAN MYTHODEA' is the result of the renovation of the ``grandfather's house'' in Ano Mera, Mykonos. It started to be built in 1960 and consists of a composition of three white volumes of different heights. For the owners, it was important that the changes did not affect the memories of their childhood. So the basic idea moved to the revitalization of the existing shell by highlighting the traditional elements of Cycladic architecture with a modern architectural language. Thus, the white volumes were preserved, the existing shell with changes to the external openings where the glass windows were increased allowing the connection of internal and external spaces and internal changes creating a new structure. The building includes two en suite bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living room. The external space consists of the outdoor kitchen-dining room and the pool area
