In the St Giles Hill area of Winchester, this sleek, impactful new outdoor pool and garden house sits alongside a handsome period family home. Opening up the existing terraces and creating adaptable living and entertaining spaces in the under-utilised garden were key to the brief.
The new garden house, designed in a simple linear form, remains connected to the main home via the tranquil pool, flanked by a border of elegant new planting and olive trees.
Designed to be a calm oasis within the garden for all family members to enjoy year-round, the new building offers a spa area, dining and built-in bar, lounge and games area, spanning 110sqm.
The low, elegant eaves of the garden house help to nestle the building within its surroundings and the expansive glazing reflects and visually extends the garden. OB Architecture worked in partnership with Guncast to provide the pool design and with 3LA on landscaping to bring this holistic design together, giving the owners the opportunity to truly enjoy and make the most of the large garden, whilst adding value to the existing property.
