Marine Gold Restaurant | Studio 4e

Marine Gold Restaurant, located in the center of Palermo, is an oriental haute cuisine restaurant.

The concept of the project is inspired by the ancient Japanese art of Kintsugi, which consists of repairing precious ceramics by fixing them with gold dust in order to create a new object different from the previous one.

Similarly, the design of the restaurant intends to reproduce the metaphorical message of this oriental technique, giving new life and preciousness to the existing spaces, which have been renovated in order to recreate an intimate and refined image.

The restaurant consists of three small juxtaposed rooms, which allow for a perspective and unified view of the entire environment. This continuity is made possible thanks to the rhythm of ebony-colored wooden slats, which illuminate the fractures that have been artistically created on the walls of the different rooms and that evoke the gold of ceramics and the Kintsugi technique.

In the background of the restaurant, as a perspective backdrop, a traditional Japanese painting depicting the Fujiyama volcano and its surrounding nature has been specially replicated.

The different shades of wall and ceiling colors reminiscent of Japanese Shoji walls create a refined and striking atmosphere.

Marine Gold Restaurant, ubicato in una strada del centro di Palermo, è un ristorante di alta cucina orientale.

Il concept del progetto s’ispira all'antica arte giapponese del Kintsugi, che consiste nel riparare preziose ceramiche ricucendole con polvere d'oro in modo da creare un oggetto nuovo diverso dal precedente.

Allo stesso modo il progetto del ristorante intende riproporre il messaggio metaforico di questa tecnica orientale, ridando nuova vita e preziosità agli spazi esistenti, che sono stati ristrutturati al fine di ricreare un’immagine intima e raffinata.​

Il ristorante si compone di tre piccole sale giustapposte, che permettono di avere una visione prospettica e unitaria dell'intero ambiente. Tale continuità è resa possibile grazie al ritmo di listelli di legno colore ebano, che illuminano le fratture che sono state create in maniera artistica sulle pareti delle diverse sale e che intendono evocare l’oro della ceramica e la tecnica del Kintsugi.

Sullo sfondo del ristorante, come quinta prospettica, è stato appositamente  riprodotto un dipinto della tradizione giapponese, che rappresenta il vulcano Fujiyama e la natura che lo circonda.

Le diverse sfumature dei colori delle pareti e del controsoffitto rimandano alle pareti Giapponesi Shoji e contribuiscono a creare un'atmosfera ricercata e suggestiva.
