A classic beach cottage of Pittwater was being crowded in by its neighbours’ developments. The existing house was raised up to create a new lower floor and allow for a return of Pittwater views from the interior. A new addition screened off a driveway and faces north, creating a new bush courtyard and entry path.
The existing beach character was preserved, and the new work complimented it by its material choice and relaxed lifestyle. The result has three independent areas with a central kitchen opening back to the bush garden with peaking views through the house to Pittwater.
