At 1,100 m in the south of the South Tyrolean Unterland the small village Truden im Naturpark, with its frugal building tradition characterized by plastered punctuated facades and simplicity, is located. It is influenced equally by the neighboring Italian-speaking Val di Fiemme and the German-speaking Unterland. Here, along Sägeweg, in recent decades a relatively densely built single-family housing estate has been developed. In the midst of this "Haus am Sägeweg" (house on Sägeweg) was built on an already existing garage substructure.

Due to the structural conditions, the rooms of this single-family house were spread over two floors and connected to the terrace of the outbuilding on the west side by a one-story extension. With the parish church behind it, it forms a contemporary interpretation of the village-influenced architectural language of Truden, which takes the quality of everyday life and the building tradition and reflects it in a reduced form. The inclusion of essential building features of the location thus creates a present and yet reserved building: A clear punctuated facade in solid construction, characterized solely by the smooth, hand-applied Marmorino plaster with typical porphyry additives, as well as accentuated, reddish-brown, bush-hammered concrete elements and windows made of silver fir, create in interplay with the typical roofing made of monks and nuns (under-and-over tiles) a distinctive, contemporary overall picture. The implied floor division and a building incision on the west side structure the facade and emphasize the clarity of the design. Due to the rectangular arrangement of the main building and the annex, as well as the connecting roofing and the setback, an implied courtyard situation is created, which makes a protected and usable outdoor space.

Inside, the clarity of the design continues in form and material: all wooden elements, such as the furniture, doors, windows and wooden floors are made of silver fir. The metal elements like door handles and fittings are made of bronze and the stone elements such as for example the kitchen countertop are made of red-brown porphyry. The room is characterized by low-lying door reveals lined in silver fir, as well as window reveals that are concise with the plaster and the pitched roof design of the ceilings in the bedroom area. A bronze kitchen block and reddish wall finishes play a central role in the living space, as does the typical stove bench that's pushed into the wall.

Auf 1.100 m im Süden des Südtiroler Unterlandes, geprägt ebenso durch das benachbarte italienischsprachige Fleimstal sowie durch das deutschsprachige Unterland, liegt die kleine Ortschaft Truden im Naturpark mit seiner frugalen, von verputzten Lochfassaden und Einfachheit geprägten Bautradition. Hier entlang des Sägeweges, welcher direkt in den benachbarten Wald des Naturparkes Trudner Horn führt, entstand in den letzten Jahrzehnten eine relativ dichtbebaute Einfamilienhaussiedlung, inmitten welcher das „Haus am Sägeweg“ auf einem bereits bestehenden Garagenunterbau errichtet wurde.

Bedingt durch die baulichen Gegebenheiten, wurden die Räumlichkeiten des Einfamilienhauses auf zwei Stockwerke verteilt und durch einen eingeschossigen Zubau westseitig an die Terrasse des Nebengebäudes angeschlossen. Mit der Pfarrkirche im Rücken, bildet es eine zeitgemäße Interpretation der dörflich geprägten Architektursprache von Truden, welche die Qualität des Alltäglichen und der Bautradition aufnimmt und in einer reduzierten Form widerspiegelt. Die Aufnahme von wesentlichen Baumerkmalen des Ortes erschafft so einen präsenten und trotzdem zurückhaltenden Baukörper: Eine klare Lochfassade in Massivbauweise, ohne nach außen stehende Elemente, geprägt allein vom händisch, glatt aufgetragenem Marmorino Putz mit typischen Porphyr Zuschlägen und rötlicher Farbe, sowie akzentuierte, rotbraune, gestockte Betonelemente und Fenster aus Weißtanne, schaffen im Zusammenspiel mit der typischen Dacheindeckung aus Mönch-Nonne-Ziegel ein apartes, zeitgemäßes Gesamtbild. Die angedeutete Geschossteilung sowie ein westseitiger Gebäudeeinschnitt strukturieren die Fassade und betonen die Klarheit des Entwurfes. Eine höhenmäßige Verschiebung in Bezug auf den Sägeweg sowie die gedeckte Positionierung der Nachbargebäude, definiert nordseitig, zum Hauptdorf hin, eine eher verschlossene Fassadengestaltung und somit eine Ausrichtung der Öffnungen nach Osten, Süden und Westen mit raumhohen Verglasungen und fokussiertem Blick, über die tiefer liegenden Nachbarhäuser hinweg, in Richtung Wald und Naturpark. Rötliche Stoffmarkisen sorgen dabei für Privatheit und Sonnenschutz. Durch die rechtwinklige Anordnung von Haupthaus und Zubau sowie der verbindenden Überdachung und den Rücksprung wird eine angedeutete Innenhofsituation geschaffen, welche nutzbaren und geschützten Außenraum erzeugt.

Im Inneren wird die Klarheit des Entwurfes in Form und Material fortgesetzt: Sämtliche Holzelemente, wie Möbel, Türen, Fenster Holzböden sind aus Weißtanne gefertigt, alle Metallelemente, Türgriffe und Armaturen aus Bronze, Steinelemente wie etwa die Küchenplatte bestehen aus rotbraunem Porphyr. Raumprägend sind hierbei tiefliegende, in Weißtanne ausgekleidete Türleibungen, ebenso wie bündig zum Putz ausgeführte Fensterleibungen und eine satteldachförmige Gestaltung der Decken im Bereich der Schlafzimmer. Ein Kochblock aus Bronze und rötliche Wandoberflächen nehmen genauso wie die typische, in die Wand geschobene Ofenbank einen zentralen Stellenwert in den Wohnräumlichkeiten ein.

A 1.100 m di altitudine, nella parte meridionale della Bassa Atesina, caratterizzata dalla vicina Val di Fiemme di lingua italiana e dalla Bassa Atesina di lingua tedesca, si trova il piccolo paese di Trodena, all'interno del Parco Naturale, con la sua frugale tipologia architettonica caratterizzata da facciate intonacate. Qui, lungo la Via Segheria, che conduce direttamente al bosco del Parco Naturale del Monte Corno, negli ultimi decenni si è sviluppato un insediamento di case unifamiliari relativamente denso, in mezzo alle quali è stata costruita la casa "Haus am Sägeweg" su una sottostruttura di garage già esistente.

Date le limitazioni urbanistiche, i vari ambienti della casa unifamiliare sono stati distribuiti su due piani aggiungendo un´ estensione a un solo piano sul lato ovest. Alle spalle della chiesa parrocchiale, l'edificio costituisce un'interpretazione contemporanea del linguaggio architettonico del paese di Trodena, riprendendo la qualità della tipologia locale rispecchiandola in forma ridotta. L'incorporazione di elementi architettonici essenziali crea così un` edificio presente e allo stesso tempo discreto: una semplice facciata traforata in costruzione massiccia, priva di elementi sporgenti, caratterizzata unicamente dall'intonaco di marmorino applicato in modo uniforme con i tipici inerti di porfido e dal colore rossastro, nonché da elementi in calcestruzzo bocciardato di colore marrone rossastro e da finestre in abete bianco, creano un aspetto complessivo distintivo e contemporaneo nell'interazione con la tipica copertura del tetto in coppi recuperati da un´ edificio esistente. La divisione estetica dei piani e la nicchia sul lato ovest strutturano la facciata e sottolineano la chiarezza del progetto. Lo spostamento in altezza rispetto alla Via Segheria e il posizionamento in linea con gli edifici affiancati definiscono un disegno di facciata piuttosto chiuso sul lato nord e quindi un orientamento delle aperture verso est, sud e ovest con vetrate a tutta altezza e una vista centrata verso il bosco e il parco naturale. La collocazione dell'edificio principale e quella dell' estensione siccome il tetto di collegamento e l'arretramento sottostante, creano un'implicita situazione di cortile interno che genera uno spazio esterno utilizzabile e protetto.

All'interno, la semplicità del progetto è ripresa nelle forme geometriche e nei materiali: tutti gli elementi in legno, come i mobili, le porte, le finestre e i pavimenti, sono realizzati in abete bianco, tutti gli elementi metallici, le maniglie e la ferramenta sono in bronzo, mentre gli elementi in pietra, come il piano della cucina, sono in porfido marrone rossiccio. L'ambiente è caratterizzato da porte rientranti rivestite in abete bianco, finestre a filo dell'intonaco e soffitti con tetto a falda nella zona notte. Un blocco di cottura in bronzo e superfici murali rossastre svolgono un ruolo centrale negli spazi abitativi, così come la tipica banchina della stufa incassata nel muro.
