Xiang Yue (LINXY) Restaurant | DJX Design

Since this independent Hunan restaurant is located on the 4th floor of the hotel, the designer needs to anchor the first impression of Xiang Yue at the entrance. He chose to use red which is a proactive feature to define the flavor profile of Hunan cuisine - spicy.

The abstract large-scale sculptural service desk, like an organic tentacle stretched horizontally in the space, points to the dining areas on both sides of the elevator. The blood-squirting red transforms the spicy memory into a distinct visual language, laying the foundation for the design of synaesthesia.

Spherical chandeliers, spherical wall decorations and the huge circular indents on the wall at the end of the short side of the sculpture re-emphasize the sense of sequence of space, abstract attributes and the artistic sense brought by "non-object" through pure geometric forms. Thinking about boundaries while moving forward with curiosity.

Entering the main dining area along the sculpture running through the elevator lobby, people will find another larger cavity sculpture in the center, like a trumpet extending towards the windows. The exterior of the sculpture is white with the red inner wall, exuding divine light from the inside out.

The aperture and the cavity are combined with each other, which are both open and separated, and the exit of one space is the entrance of another space. Under the interweaving of red light, black glass and skylight, it seems to imply the dual meanings of material and spirit, light and shadow, spirit and flesh.

In the soft arc of the giant structure hugging and wrapping, the fascinating red halo that appear to be a flaming red giant infinite approaching, but also create a blurred silhouette faintly. Intimate and mysterious experience arises spontaneously.

The art installation in the main dining area is facing the corridor of the private room, and the doors are decorated with the red trumpet, taking into account the functional convenience and visual echo effect. The complicated technology has been hidden, and the minimalist aesthetics has been highlighted.

The restaurant space design creates a dining experience environment that is completely different from daily life through a single large area of solid color, elongated art installations and multi-layered glass screens to integrate innovation of "New" "Spicy" and "Pleasure"of Hunan Cuisine.
